This week's venture capital funding returned to its pre-Thanksgiving momentum, with five transactions in excess of the $100 million threshold.
The top reported deal, per FinSMEs, came from Los Angeles-based Saviynt, an identity security company (dovetailing well with our discussions on trust in AI and AI TRiSM), which raised $700 million in a Series B at a $3 billion valuation. Saviynt will use the funds to "increase, expand, and accelerate product development; generate additional AI-based utilities, methodologies, and programs that facilitate the migration from legacy solutions to Saviynt’s platform; and enable integration with hyper-scalers, software/SaaS platforms, professional services firms, and value-added resellers," according to its announcement. Our second announcement is from San Francisco and Singapore-based Airwallex, which raised $330 million in a Series G to "expand operation (and) its development efforts," according to its announcement, more specifically, to establish its second San Francisco headquarters and expand its U.S. operations. The top five also included companies in the real-time generative media, healthcare benefits and agentic security sectors.
Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the drug discovery, AI development and cybersecurity robotics spaces.
