The venture capital activity swung decisively this week towards acceleration, with seven fundraising announcements come in above the $100 million threshold.
The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from Stockholm, Sweden-based Legora, which raised $550 million in a Series D at a $5.55 billion valuation. Legora, which creates a collaborative workspace for lawyers and other legal professionals, will use its new funding to "accelerate its expansion across the United States," according to the announcement. Our second place announcements were a tie between San Francisco-based consumer technology firm Quince, which raised a $500 million Series E at a $10.1 billion valuation, and Santa Clara, Calif.-based networking provider Nexthop AI, which raised a Series B of the same amount at a $4.2 billion valuation. The top five also included companies in the robotics and AI networking spaces.
Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the agentic security, autonomous vehicles and recruiting sectors.
