This week our overall AI venture capital activity accelerated yet again from prior weeks, including multiple raises over the $1 billion mark.
The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from London-based Isomorphic Labs, which is building an AI drug design and development platform. The company raised a $2.1 billion Series B, which it will use to "accelerate the development and deployment of its AI drug design engine (IsoDDE), expand its pipeline of therapeutic programs toward clinical trials, and scale its global workforce across AI, engineering, and clinical disciplines," according to its announcement. Our second-place announcement was from San Francisco-based AI infrastructure provider Lambda, raising $160 million in a syndicated senior secured credit facility, which it will use in part "to deploy new NVIDIA AI accelerator infrastructure and expand its data center capacity, delivering additional revenue-generating assets while lowering its cost of capital" according to its announcement. The top five also included companies in the healthcare, AI infrastructure and security spaces.
Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the autonomous vehicle, lawtech and agentic AI sectors.
